Integrated Livelihoods Programme

ACAT KZN - Helping rural Africans deal with Poverty, Malnutrition and HIV.

ACAT is dedicated to transforming marginalised rural communities through entrepreneurship and sustainable, climate-resilient agriculture. Working across 18 (eighteen) areas in KwaZulu-Natal, ACAT’s Integrated Livelihoods Programme (ILP) tackles the structural causes of poverty by combining skills development, enterprise support, access to finance, and continuous mentoring through locally led community structures. Its approach strengthens household food security, enables income generation, and builds long-term self-reliance, supported by complementary initiatives such as Savings and loans groups and the youth basic life skills programme. Through these integrated, community-driven systems, ACAT supports over 1,600 adults and youth each year, fostering resilient livelihoods and durable economic participation.
