ACAT KZN - Helping rural Africans deal with Poverty, Malnutrition and HIV.

Nomvula Mphofu joined the ACAT programme in 2020 and gained valuable knowledge through the Basic Life Skills training. She says “As a single mother of two, relying on child grants, I was motivated to improve our situation. With my brother’s support, I started a garden, which not only provided food but also sparked entrepreneurial ideas in me. I invested the grant money in a lawn mower, and started a lawn mowing business. Although it’s a seasonal income, this venture led me to diversify by purchasing a sewing machine. I now offer machine repair services, and earn a monthly profit of around R1000, despite fluctuations.”
